Displayport To Vga Cable Not Working

I have a laptop with both vga out and a displayport.

It does not show in my device manager. If i try to hook it into the displayport through the displayport to vga adapter it will not work. I am really struggling to get the 2nd screen on displayport working properly. The units i purchased do not have a vga out connection.

I purchased an adapter to do this however it is not working. Vga monitor cable is used to connect computer monitors to their computers. I know that the displayport does work because if you go into display. I didn t know if i had to do something to activate it or not.

Next if this does not solve your problem disconnect your computer dvd player or another input device from your cable. I purchased multiple displayport to vga adapters to hook up projectors or a second monitor. I have tried everything i can think of the bios is up to date i have tried all available bios settings the device drivers are up to date i have tried different monitors and i have tried replacing the displayport to vga dongle all to no avail. I attempt to hook either a monitor or projector and it works fine.

I can not get this to work. Check to be sure that it is plugged into a power source that works and turned on. It is also commonly used for. I am getting a no signal window on my monitor.

I need one of my cables to start as displayport and go to a vga input on my monitor.
